more pics of Rika (in Red)

The Walkman version of G705 spotted again, and it’s in red version this time. Sounds like it take some cue from T700 in terms of colours and trim. I don’t know if I like how it’s look though, kinda like Kumiko (G705) a bit better.

What’s happen to my Kumiko!

Kumiko just got official and I noticed something very strange.

To be more specific, the pictures of G705 provided by Sony Ericsson.

It’s appear that the pictures come with same old browser UI as many phones already offer by Sony Ericsson, which is not the case of my testing unit of Kumiko & Shiho. Even know that these things can differ from the retail version but still the newer one is look a lot nicer.

update another version of browser on G705 is the one that I have and interesting enough the colour will change everytime you exit and re-enter the browser, colours include green, red, purple, blue, orange

G705 – On Preview [Part 1]

Once again before its announcement time I’ll write about this slider. The G705 or Kumiko.

The front part of G705 utilised glossy material, the screen is under the same piece of plastic as a whole front. The back of the phone is matte plastic while the side of the phone using chrome material which applied to the side buttons (volume roker and camera key) as well. The earpiece place next to video calling camera and light sensor is on another side. There is a Play/Pause key on the top of the phone doubled as shorcut to access last played track from music player. The 3.2 Mega Pixel camera is on the back with LED Photo Light and Video Red Light on both sides of the camera lens. The fast port is place at the very top of right side of the phone and there’s a M2 logo on the same side. The way of open the battery cover is interesting, there is a switch place at the bottom part of the phone to lock the cover. Under the cover is femiliar BST-33 battery and on the side you’ll find M2 slot (yes, you have to remove the battery cover before do anything with the card). The mouthpiece is on the left of the keyboard. Typing on G705 is not too bad with good size buttons and well distinguished between them (the keyboard using different approach from C905 and F305). When you slide the phone up, you’ll notice the resemblance pattern of the speaker at the back of slide up part of the phone in matte material.

and here are some stuffs about G705 that I didn’t cover last time

  • Light Sensor
  • HSUPA (with secondary camera for video calling only)
  • UMA Support

More Info on Kumiko & Eian

I recently read many discussions about my posts on Kumiko & Eian and this post just to clarify some info a bit.

The picture in the post about Eian is actually not Eian (which I don’t have the device itself and any real pic in hand just yet) It just G705 in orange to make it looks like Walkman to correspond with the story.

About the Java Platform, after got my hands on both C905 and G705 the two have the same info and appear to be JP 8.4 (at least on my devices) the picture below is from Kumiko

‘Eian’ New Sony Ericsson Walkman Slider Leaked

The other phone I recently found information and will cover here is  Eian (as the title of this post suggests). Eain is actually Kumiko’s Sister.

Design wise, the control key (soft key/navi and those stuffs grouped together) looks like those found on lastest Walkman line, familiar three overlaped circles (like W890/W980/W902 and so on). Also the front of Eian utilise glossy material that will be huge fingerprint magnet.

Sadly, I’ve yet to discovered the differences of hardware specs between the two though.

[update 29-08-08] as some  body wondering about the pic above, it is actually not Eian. It just G705 in orange to make it looks like Walkman to correspond with the story.
